【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforindicatingtherelativecoke-formingpropensitiesandforevaluatingandcharacterizingtarsandpitches.Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipmentsorsourcesofsupply.FIG.1ApparatusforDeterminingCarbonResidue1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecokingvalueoftarandpitchhavinganashcontentnotover0.5%asdeterminedbyTestMethodD2415.1.2CokingvaluesbythistestmethodarepracticallythesameasthoseobtainedbyTestMethodD189,butresultsaremorereproducible.Theapparatususedisidentical,exceptthatanelectricfurnaceissubstitutedforthegasflame.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
