【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedureforperforminglaboratoryteststodeterminetheminimumignitionenergyofadustcloud.Note18212;Forgasesandvapors,seeTestMethodE582.Thedatadevelopedbythistestmethodmaybeusedtoassessthesparkignitibilityofadustcloud.AdditionalguidanceonthesignificanceofminimumignitionenergyisinX1.1.Thevaluesobtainedarespecifictothesampletested,themethodusedandthetestequipmentused.Thevaluesarenottobeconsideredintrinsicmaterialconstants.TheMIEofadustasdeterminedusingthisprocedurecanbecomparedwiththeMIE''sofreferencedusts(usingthesameprocedure)toobtaintherelativesensitivityofthedusttosparkignition.Anunderstandingoftherelativesensitivitytosparkignitioncanbeusedtominimizetheprobabilityofexplosionsduetosparkignition.
